I reckon the US President would be pretty happy about having his name leant to this beer – almost.
Barrique, to those in the know, means barrel. Specifically French Oak Barrels. And this beer has definitely benefited from its time spent fermenting in said barrels.
It’s a very dark pour, verging on black. There are strong pine notes to the nose with a little citrus.
The taste is a mellow chocolate and vanilla essence. There is an oak side to the flavor that really stands it apart though. Without it it would be an 8 out of 10 for me but I’d rate this beer well into the 9s. Top drop!!
